Story
Thank you for taking the time to read about my intention to take part in the John Smith’s People’s Race, on 4th April 2009, in aid of the Imagine Appeal (Alder Hey Children’s Hospital).
After thousands of applicants, numerous trial days and ‘X-Factor’ moments I have managed to get into the last 16 for the race and am in training at Donald McCain’s yard in Cheshire. His father 'Ginger' trained the legendary Red Rum who won the Grand National three times in the 1970s.
The race will take place on Grand National day and will be watched by millions of viewers on the BBC with over 80,000 spectators in attendance at the racecourse. In addition John Smith’s have kindly put up a total prize fund of £100,000 for your chosen charity.
I was very fortunate to have worked at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for two years as a nurse in the High Dependency Unit. I know how worthwhile the Imagine Appeal is to help continue pioneering work, develop facilities and offer the very highest care to the children.
It has been a dream for me to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and taking part in the John Smith’s People’s race is a great incentive for me to help CHANGE a child’s life. Every donation we receive helps to improve the quality of life for the children in hospital.
Childhood is about ENJOYING … please take a moment to view the official Imagine Appeal video www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBBDgXH9mCo
I trust my greatest challenge will be getting into the final 10 for the race, however your generous support of my cause will be greatly appreciated.
