Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Scottish Autism was established in 1968 by a group of parents, and is now the largest provider of autism-specific services in Scotland. It makes an amazing difference to the lives of autistic people and their families, through directly providing services and life-changing opportunities, providing invaluable free advice and support on the phone and online, researching and spreading the word on good autism practice, and advocating on behalf of the autism community.
In Scottish Autism's 50th year, I've decided to try and climb 50 hills. As well as raising much needed funds, I'd also like to raise awareness (mine and others') of autism and the daily realities for autistic people and those who support and care for them. I would love to share my walks with everyone who would like to join me - Scottish Autism staff and service users, friends, family, people I've not even met yet... For that reason the definition of 'hill' is not fixed, to take account of all ages, abilities and geographies (highest point in Orkney, anyone?). Do please send me a message if you'd like to join in. You may even get to wear and be photographed in the coveted Scottish Autism summit T-shirt! I will be updating regularly on progress.
I'll be blogging about my adventures and experiences here: https://wordpress.com/view/simonahunt.com
