Story
It all started with Christmas lunch 2014. That year we had 18 for lunch and we’d pressed the Rumpus into service. “If you can walk a mile, you can walk ten miles.” I bragged. “If you can walk ten miles, you can walk a hundred. And if you can walk an hundred miles, then you can walk a thousand! Bite sized chunks!” I smiled smugly.
“Go on then” She said. “Do it.”
So the following Spring, three friends: Sebastian Fontveille, Rane King and Hop-along Dragfoot, (accompanied as always by Parkinson) started with a single step (as all good journeys do). The Original ‘Sebastian’s Swagger’ was 1,300 km in 103 days from the Dartford Bridge to Lands End.
In 2022 we embark on the new chapter: Gretna Green to Berwick-on-Tweed, 4,160 km via the Isle of Wight, loosely following the England Coast Path.
It’s an ambitious project and apart from the geographical goals, we aim to raise a few bob for Parkinson’s UK charity, to help them fund a bit more research into this incurable condition.
So dig deep and please donate what you can afford.
Thank you.
