Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My mother Suzy died at the end of April this year after a short and incredibly painful fight against cancer. Royal Trinity Hospice came to our rescue at the beginning of January when they offered Suzy relief from the agony she was suffering as the cancer attacked her bones. After a four week stay in this incredible place where she laughed, she cried, she went viral, Suzy came home however she was very explicit in her wishes of ending her days at Royal Trinity which was eventually her final resting place. Trinity made us all (even the dogs) feel welcome at any time of day or night and nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone. One of the many gorgeous nurses said to me that she actually felt "privileged" to be able to look after people in their final days and that was how everyone in the Hospice seemed to behave.
As a result of this, Jonathan and I felt it was not only a duty but our deepest wish to do something for Royal Trinity. I have never loved running anything further than a 200m. sprint so running a half marathon was always going to be a challenge and I promise, despite a gruelling training schedule that I try to stick to, I am still not a huge fan of running any distance. Jonathan on the other hand is more of a plodder and has a couple of marathons under his belt but those were more than 10 years ago so he has taken on the role of motivator.
