Story
Cheryl Robeson Piggott has traveled to over 30 countries in the past 20 years. She found in many parts of the world that children were undernourished, and left alone to fend for themselves at 6 years old and younger. She was devastated by what she saw in India, Mexico, and parts of the Orient, and vowed to make a difference in the lives of these children. As her celebrity marketing work began to generate charity rebates to help the homeless and orphans in the Orient, she realized that the talents of the entertainment industry could be utilized to maximize the efforts.
After meeting with numerous agencies and departments at the United Nations, and as the world became more appalled and educated about the pandemic of AIDS and the aftermath effect on its families, Cheryl turned the foundation's focus toward the most devastating tragedy of the century...AIDS orphans and their plight for survival. She and her board have expanded the mandates to advocate for all orphans. She founded World Orphans Day in 2006.
