There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.

Story

Hi There! Firstly let me introduce myself, My name's Sophie and I'm a 24year old Lady. My main interests are art, food, and sleeping and apparently I've been nurturing a benign tumour called a Myxopapilary Ependymoma in my spine for quite some time!

I am an artist and am running a Paint-A-Thon where I will make a series of paintings specially for The National Brain Appeal which will raise moneys and awareness for The National Hospital of Neurology and Neuroscience (NHNN).

I was diagnosed with a spinal tumour on the 22nd of July 2014 and was in and out of hospital following spinal surgery by the 14th August 2014. I want to raise money to aid the hospital in all its fantastic work and say a big thank you to all the staff that looked after me so well, without all of them, I wouldn't be standing today!

1 in 6 people in the UK are diagnosed with a neurological condition. The National Brain appeal raises money for The National Hospital of Neurology and Neuroscience to help carry on treating people with conditions from Migraines, to Brain Tumours as well as Dementia, Parkinsons and Multiple Sclerosis among many other conditions.

Please Donate as generously as you can to the National Brain Appeal because lets be honest...most people rely quite heavily on that spongy mass of neurons we call a brain! Many Thanks :)
