Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m a Health Visitor, working with mums and babies on a daily basis; I have seen first hand how maternal mental health impacts all the family. The pandemic has made the problems associated with maternal mental health worse due to social isolation and lack of support networks.

I have decided to fundraise for Action on Postpartum Psychosis having recently learnt more about the condition. I will be doing this by walking the six different paths up Snowdon between May and August. My first walk/hike will be on 15th May, weather permitting.

There is no Mother and Baby treatment centre in North Wales, meaning that mums with the condition need to be separated from their newborns which is unacceptable.  APP have been raising awareness of this for many years, and a new Mother and Baby  Unit has recently opened in South Wales.

Please give what you can, to raise awareness and much needed funds for APP to continue their work and campaign for a North Wales Mother and Baby Unit.

Thank you so much, diolch o galon, Shirley xx
