Bupa Great South Run 2010 · 24 October 2010 ·
Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page,
Earlier this year I came to the conclusion that the best way to go about losing weight and getting fitter was to sign up for something that I would pretty much be forced to do once I'd agreed to it, but also have it as a target to work towards. And if I do it for charity, there would be no chance of backing out!
So I chose the Great South Run (http://www.greatrun.org/EVENTS/Event.aspx?id=12)
It's a 10 mile road run through Portsmouth.
The charity I've chosen is the Duchess of Kent House Charity. (http://www.dokhc.org.uk)
They are probably not that well known but they do fantastic work at the Duchess of Kent and I would like to give support to all the people who work for the charity, including my Mum, here's a bit more about them:
'The Duchess of Kent House Charity supports the specialist palliative care services available at the Duchess of Kent House (hospice) in Reading. The unit treats adult patients with cancer and other life-shortening diseases, at no charge according to need. The hospice provides out-patient, in-patient and day therapy services, which includes respite care and symptom control.'
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks very much
Simon
