We fundraise for patients at The DMRC to maximise rehab potential & outcomes

Story

I've been supporting the DMRC Charity for 7 years now, raising much needed funds.  The Fund is a not-for-profit registered charity that directly supports those members of the Armed Forces who have been injured in the service of Our Country, many with significant life changing and often permanent mental and physical injuries.

It must be emphasised that although the public purse - the taxpayer -  provides for many conventional therapies & medical treatments, it is this fund that creates opportunities for patients to engage in social integration activities; and lets them forget about their injuries for a few hours; so vital for rehabilitation into society.

Having retired from the Royal Navy in Dec 20, achievements include, despite my gammy leg: hiking up Mount Snowden by the challenging Pyg route; over 500 miles of off-road cycling; four 10k runs; three Half Marathons; 76 Parkruns; multiple twice weekly evening runs with the amazing Swad Joggers; multiple self inflicted runs and of course the London Marathon on the 3rd Oct.  A total of over 700 miles pounding the streets and trails!

We have ever increasing support and a special mention must go to the Ashby & Greystone Physiotherapy Clinic, which has taken on the unenviable task of keeping my leg working!

Even if I have to crawl across finish lines I'll be there, wishing so much to reach - exceed - the Target.  Please donate, every penny is so much appreciated!

Thank you

About the charity

The DMRC Benevolent Fund purchases special goods and services for patients' rehabilitation, beyond that which is provided by the public purse. We create opportunities for patients to engage in social activities, which lets them forget about their injuries and rehabilitation for a few hours.
