Riding For a Reason #3 · 6 May 2019

Friends of Asha (GB) raises money and awareness for the work of Asha Community Health and Development Society. Asha works in 90+ slum colonies in Delhi, India. It improves health and provides support and education for over 750,000 slum dwellers, enabling them to make positive changes to their lives.

Story

Thank you for visiting this page and I am once again lucky enough to be riding my motorcycle in support of the excellent work of Asha - a slum based charity I have been supporting for many years.
The bike trip is going to be my longest one yet................................

The loosely put together 'plan' is to ride my 250cc motorcycle from the top of Alaska to the bottom of South America  and hopefully visit as many of the Asha supporters as my journey progresses.

This route isn't going to be the most direct (no surprises there) but I will be riding with a few friends for the first few weeks.

Riding for a Reason was originally used back in 2009 when I was lucky enough to ride from the UK to India on a Honda Transalp and again a few years back when I rode a Hero 150cc all around the circumference of India. This third trip will be my longest trip yet and for the first couple of months a few friends will be taking it in turns to ride sections with me.

I arrive in San Diego (yes I know it's at the wrong end of the country but that's why it's a loosely put together 'plan') and will then ride North to the top of Alaska and then cut across Canada before eventually ending up in Boston and New York. Then it'll be back across the states, and down a bit, before crossing over into Mexico and then on to the bottom at Tierra Del Fuego. .

What could possibly go wrong ;-)

As per my previous trips I guarantee that 100% of any donation made will go straight to Asha and allow them to continue in their work. The children I used as examples for my previous trips are now older, doing exceptionally well, and  are an inspiration to the next generation of children who are born into poverty. None of them have forgotten where they come from and give their time to help the younger children in their communities. Please check out the Asha website to see exactly what these children have achieved - it's stunning!

Asha does make a difference and I'm reminded how much when I see the children seizing these opportunities and changing lives.

This bike ride is my small way of helping to publicise this charity and hopefully raising additional funding that'll help the next generation.
