Story
Unless you've been in a foreign country for the last 6 months you will probably be aware that I will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in February: Not that I've been banging on about it or anything!
It's a once in a lifetime experience and it will be the most challenging thing I have ever attempted.
At just under 6000m Kilimanjaro is the worlds tallest free standing Mountain and will take 4 days of trekking to reach the "Roof of Africa". Although there is no technical climbing involved, the temperatures will be in the region of minus 20 degrees Celsius. On top of that I will have to avoid the mountain sickness that prevents almost 20% of climbers from reaching the summit.
Being such a challenge I thought I'd try and raise some money for Cancer Research UK, a charity that I believe does extraordinary work to tackle one of the most indiscriminate diseases known. If you would like to sponsor me on this challenge you can fill out this easy on line sponsorship and know that your money is going to a very worthwhile cause. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
