Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
Recently my family and I were lucky enough to visit Sri Lanka. We were absolutely smitten with its people's smiles and kindness. When we visited the Rainbow Centre - which helps children in extreme poverty - I was even more amazed by how children that have very little would happily share their treats with my son. Please join me in my effort to support the centre and their amazing work.
It's been a while since I've run for charity. Last time was the Bath Half, more than five years ago. I ran it in 1 hour and 57 minutes, breaking my two hours target. This time I'm aiming at running the same distance in under 1 hour and 30 minutes. It will be tough and should I not make it, I pledge to add to the final donation the amount raised during the first two months.
About the Rainbow Centre
The Rainbow Centre is a haven for children who live in appalling conditions. Its aim is to equip the children with the skills they need to break free from the poverty in which they live. Its primary focus is to enable children to access the educational system. To date, the Rainbow Centre has enabled 140 children to go to mainstream school.
The Rainbow Centre is helping children to break free from a cycle of poverty that would otherwise trap them in a world of crime, begging, addiction and abuse. This is life-changing work.
