Our incredible London Marathon team are taking on 26.2 miles to raise funds to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into finding a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.

Story

Crohn's and Colitis UK are an incredible charity who do so much to support and care for those who are affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I am very proud to be an ambassador for the charity and to be able to represent them in the 2022 London Marathon.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis ten years ago and It took me a very long time to come to terms with my diagnosis. Initially, I struggled to speak openly about what I was experiencing  because I was embarrassed. Since then, I have been so inspired by the thousands of strong members in the Crohn's and Colitis community to share my story, spread awareness and combat the stigma of this disease. I have seen how empowering that doing so has been to myself but also to others with similar experiences.

Over the past few years I have been overwhelmed by the amount of kind and incredible support that I have received from the Crohn's and and Colitis community and I am excited to be able to take on this challenge to give something back.

Supporting the charity has always been something that is very important to me and my family. In 2017 my father cycled Lands End to John O'Groats, and last year my partner Jake and his friends cycled the North Coast 500 in Scotland- both raising a great amount of money for Crohn's and Colitis UK. I'm really excited to finally have the opportunity to take on a fundraising challenge of my own.

At this moment in time I am struggling to complete a 3km run so I will need as much support as possible to reach 42km! Anyone that has seen me run knows I am very much a fish out of water and a lot of training is going to be needed!

If you are able to, please donate whatever you can and know that your kind donations are supporting people affected by IBD in so many different ways.

Crohn's & Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. I am taking part in the 2022 TCS London Marathon to support Crohn's & Colitis UK, and your donation can help Crohn's & Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.
