Ukraine Crisis Appeal

Ukraine has faced almost eight years of conflict. With recent events, we want to be there for everyone who needs us

Story

Hi friends,

The Smyth runners are doing a marathon together in County Mayo Ireland this March 🇮🇪 We’ll be running along the windswept Greenway path in the west coast of Ireland. Starting in Achill and ending in Westport it’s a 42km route.

We weren’t going to ask for donations, because the truth is, we love to run. And we know you’re all wonderful, generous people who give to great causes all the time.

But the crisis in Ukraine is frightening so we’ve decided to fundraise. If you can spare a donation to sponsor us that would be amazing! All donations will go to the emergency appeal for Ukraine which has been set up by the Red Cross.

More about why we’re fundraising

Even before recent developments, this is a conflict that hits people daily on personal, psychological and emotional levels, bringing death, injury and separation from loved ones, as well as the huge mental toll of ongoing violence and insecurity.

It's a rapidly evolving crisis, and your donation could help someone affected get food, medicines, shelter and water.

We are very aware of how lucky we are. We get to fly over to Ireland and spend time together in a country we call home. This feels unfair when we know that for many Ukrainians, home is no longer safe. And many people will be worried about the safety of their family or friends who are still in Ukraine.

Thank you for your donation, Louis, Ellen & Molly x
