As the president of the Newcastle University Computing and Technology Society, the 24-Hour Gameathon was one of the traditions I was most excited to continue. Each year our society raises money for a charity of our choice, and this year we chose The People's Kitchen, which is just down the street from the Urban Sciences Building. 

The People's Kitchen is entirely run by voulnteers, and supports vulnerable people in the area. Not only are they providing those in need with things they can use to make living on the streets easier, such as food, toiletriest, clothing, and sleeping bags, they also offer mental welbeing support.
