Southampton Children’s Hospital is one of the UK’s leading children’s hospitals with some of the highest quality children’s services and best outcomes in the UK.

The shared vision of Southampton Hospital Charity and charity partner The Murray Parish Trust is to fundraise the creation of a state of the art specialist Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department here at UHS in the Summer 2018.

To make this vision a reality, £2 million pounds needs to be raised, which will coincide with £2 million worth of match funding granted to UHS by the Government. So every pound I raise with this trek will effectively be matched by the Government!

This 12 day trek will take us from Lukhla Airport, via Kathmandu, to the base of Mount Everest at 17,600ft and onto the summit of Kala Patthar (18,500ft). It's set to be my toughest challenge yet, least of all for the lack of hair washing facilities!

It will be fantastic to know that every step will go towards fundraising for this amazing facility, ultimately benefiting all the children that require emergency treatment across Central South England.
