We are two bubbly radio presenters who have our own weekly shows about new/indie music. When the idea of doing a 24 hour show was offered up to us we grabbed the opportunity because we knew it would be such a great way to give back to the community.

It didn't take us long to decide upon the charity we wanted to raise money for as mental health issues are so prominent within our lives - even more so since joining university. When you, or someone close to you, has been suffering with mental health problems you often find yourself lost and vulnerable. It's tricky to chat to people openly and it's even trickier to admit it to yourself. Some days you want to get up and get the day rolling but your mind has trapped you in a negative outlook causing you to not want to get out of bed. Some days you want to talk to everyone and can't help but feel happy but some days you want to hide your face from the world. Some days you feel anxious. Some days you feel nauseous. No matter what mental health issue you are facing, there is always someone who understands what you going through.

We chose MIND because they continue to work to get the support and respect those who suffer from a mental health problem need. Join us in battling the stigma by being able to freely talk live on Sound Radio about mental health. Let's stand together to raise awareness and support the community in which we live.
