In my 31 years at Hillside, I've worked closely with young children and their families as they cope with challenges that no one should have to face, at any age. Their life situations are unique, but the children have certain things in common such as the incredible joy that lights up their faces when they receive a toy or gift, particularly at this time of year. The fact is, for many of the kids we serve whether they're in a residential campus program or a community-based service holiday gifts are a rarity.
