Stand with Ukraine - Charity Concert

Alexei Szpuk is raising money for Disasters Emergency Committee

Stand with Ukraine - Charity Concert · 20 June 2022

More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

Story

The current situation in Ukraine has been heartbreaking for all of us at Chetham’s School of Music. Some students and staff have family in Ukraine, so we wanted to organise a concert to raise money to help people in need of humanitarian aid who have been affected by the atrocities of war.

The concert is now available at: https://outreach.chethams.com/stand-with-ukraine/

Our concert is a showcase of students from Years 10-13 at Chetham’s School of Music performing solo pieces and ensemble pieces from a variety of styles. We thought that our love of music making would be the ideal way to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. (see more about what this great charity does below).

We hope you enjoy the concert, and would really appreciate a donation if you are able to make one  - Alexei, Sephie and Stella (organisers of the concert).

DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care. £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month £50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
