Story
Hello, my name is Stefan and I am now 42 years old. Early in 2013 I was diagnosed with throat cancer (caused by HPV Virus) and my life changed forever. Not just my life though, also the lives of many people around me. Thankfully I was diagnosed early and thanks to the loving support of my family, friends and work colleagues and the amazing hard work and dedication of all the huge team of staff that helped me through my treatment I am now well on the road to recovery.
I was very lucky to have such a great bunch of people to help and support me through and I still needed some extra support from the Macmillan Nurses who were always more helpful than I could have hoped for. I saw many people in the hospital who weren't as lucky as me and were having to go through it on their own and who weren't as strong as I was. For those people the Macmillan Nurses are an absolute lifeline. Cancer is frightening enough without having to go through it alone and I want to do my bit to make sure that never happens so please give as generously as you can because they are the most wonderful people and I can't praise them enough.
