Story
For most homeless people, work and training opportunities are scarce. There should be more. Re-cycle Bikes aims to provide them, and to become self-sustaining by selling recycled bikes.
This is an ambitious and quite risky project. But the Society of St James (SSJ) has a good track record and is well run. It provides accommodation and support services to those vulnerable to homelessness, as well as a range of sport and voluntary opportunities. This includes running an established computer recycling business.
A lot of SSJ’s work is unglamorous, but this bit is about bikes, recycling and getting people working.
