Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. 100% of every donation goes to GOSH, I pay ALL of my costs to do these races.

In Team Hatch, we swim, bike and run together to raise funds for GOSH in memory of Emma. We are close to raising £1 million, and we will hit that target this year,. 20022, with your help.

We all have our favourite charities, as an ex serviceman I support military and  homeless charities too. And...if you have any money you can spare to help us reach that £million for the kids at Great Ormond Street, they'd be grateful.

Now, the back story, starting from this year, 2022, - it is August already and in Iron Man races it is two down one to go. Lanzarote became my 'Swim, bike, done' and not 'Swim, bike, run' - picking up Covid at the end of my final training camp in Mallorca was a bit of a blow and I was not able to do the run. A fail then? not for me, Did Not Finish beats Did Not Start, I did my best, I turned up and took the learning. It has helped me prepare for Ironman Kalmar in Sweden, on August 20th, other races...and life. Starting is not failing, failing is only doing that which is easy for you. That is what I took from it anyway. That and the joy of having the ability and the choice.

Now the older stuff from before....

On the 1st July 2018, the members of Team Hatch swam, biked and ran a very long way at Challenge Roth. We did this in memory of Emma, whose story is here www.justgiving.com/therosebudappeal and here https://huubdesign.com/blogs/huub-tv

My story, an ordinary if slightly overweight 52 year old bloke training to race for somewhere between 12 and 14 hours, is here

https://theroadtoroth569625414.wordpress.com

And, post Roth the challenge continues, next up the Mallorca 312, an epic and mountainous ride around Mallorca, in one go...April 19

Update...2020 is BIG...no, it was COVID, now all in 2021, I mean 2022.... Help me raise more for GOSH, as I prepare to race nor one, not two...but  two and a half IM races in Feb, May, and August.
