Story
I am taking part in RBC Ride for the Kids on Friday 25 September, taking on the 100 miles challenge to raise money for the charity, SportsAid. The event will be a highlight of this year's SportsAid Week, the charity's big campaign week, and all miles covered will contribute to the charity's #MyMilesChallenge.
SportsAid provides financial support, recognition and personal development opportunities to the next generation of British athletes during the early stages of their career.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the original planned ride around the Chilterns had to be cancelled. Instead, I will ride with a small group of colleagues from London to Brighton and back (~110 miles) in order to complete the challenge.
Also: I will match the first £1,000 of donations and then RBC will match that again, so 4 times your donation will go towards funding a series of athlete and parent workshops for SportsAid athletes.
These workshops will support athletes with media training, nutrition advice and mentoring to ensure that they can be the best athlete they can be.
Since 2014, RBC has supported 50 up-and-coming, young athletes each year with a SportsAid award.
