Story
Hi I'm Steve Baxter and I work for CVP as the operations director, the company set-up by my big brother (in 1986), now the UK's largest reseller of broadcast and cinematography gear.
Ever since my brother (Phil) died prematurely of a heart attack at only 46 years old (HCOM) I've been cycling to stay healthy and look after my heart. Word of my cycling (affliction) got around CVP and I was asked to participate in this years' Superheroes Cycle Ride from London to Amsterdam which takes place ahead of the IBC Exhibition (Europe's largest exhibition for the media and broadcast market). They'll be a number of us taking part in this epic two-day cycle ride (all under the leadership of Barry Bassett from VMI) and we are all doing it for a great cause - Mines Advisory Group.
Whilst landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) may not be headline news everyday, it is probably no surprise to learn that with all the conflict going on globally they are a huge problem. Every hour, someone in the world is injured or killed by a landmine or unexploded bomb. 42% of these casualties are children. MAG aims to save lives and rebuild futures by removing and destroying landmines and unexploded bombs from communities affected by war and violence around the world. Because of their work, people can not only live safely, they can farm safe land, build new houses and schools and children can walk without fear. Please donate to my page and help to support a safer future for millions of people.
