Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Ron loved all sport and over his life he was actively involved in football, cricket, tennis, golf and bowls to name but a few.

Sadly, Ron was a victim of Parkinson's Disease, which restricted and eventually ended his sporting career. He died earlier this year aged 81 and a small group of his family and their friends will be running the New Forest Marathon and New Forest Half Marathon on 25 September 2011 in his memory to raise money for Parkinsons UK.

A number of our other family & friends suffered or are suffering from Parkinson's Disease, including the late Mrs Pat Churchill. This is a fantastic cause, so please dig deep and donate now to help prevent others from suffering in the way that Ron, Pat and others did and do.

In addition to the online donations listed below, we'd like to thank Val & Roy Collinson and Mark Wightman for their offline donations.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
