After years of breast cancer fundraising and working with so many survivors, I get asked "why" a lot. I started with only one "why", and it has grown so much since then. I've met so many survivors since starting my fundraising efforts, and each one of them is a "why"! In 2016 we had a close friend who got breast cancer, at 36. Married with 3 little kiddos it hit hard. We tried to be there and help where we could. I was able to go along to a couple chemo treatments and appointments which were truly eye opening. We all know that cancer is bad, but it's so much more than that. It's life consuming. Through our automotive business we are able to do 20+ free oil changes every October for survivors, which is simply one of the things that just gets placed on the back burner. That combined with all of the driving to appointments seemed like a great way to help out. My friend was treated at RMH Sentara and is now cancer free. Through this fundraising effort we are able to help provide better care, more treatment options, faster treatments options, and more people who get to say the words cancer free. We ask you to think about this effort and give as you can to help the RMH Hahn Cancer center and Funkhouser Women's Center. 100%, and I'll repeat that, 100% of the funds go straight to the cancer center and nowhere else.
