We provide unconditional friendship, support and practical help to people in crisis and in need. We work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction

Story

I'm participating in the Government's Stoptober campaign which encourages folk to give up smoking this October. I intend to stop smoking on 1st October but I need a tangible incentive to help me succeed.

I'm rather hoping you'll sponsor me to stop via JustGiving. I've set a rather ambitious target of £250 but really whatever amount I can raise will be the incentive I'm seeking. But this is for such a good cause I hope you'll be motivated to give what you can afford.

All proceeds will go to the social fund of the Salvation Army's Basingstoke Corps. It is used to support vulnerable people in the community, for example the homeless, elderly and infirm.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. You can even pay in your local currency if you are not in the UK.

Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

You can find out more about the Stoptober campaign at http://smokefree.nhs.uk/stoptober/

Thank you in anticipation,
