However I'm gonna level with you. I'm doing this challenge because I want to do this challenge - I mean whatever anyone says about their skydive, bungee jump or hike up Kilimanjaro, they'd be lying if they said they were doing it for any reason other than they actually really want to.

The challenge in this case is climbing the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), Wales (Snowdon) and England (Scafell Pike) within 24 hours. I'm pretty unclear how I'll manage that, frankly, and if it takes me 26 or 28 hours I'll be pretty happy too! But 24 hours is the plan (that means from the start of the ascent of mountain one, all the way to the end of the descent of mountain 3).

So, cool challenge. But the opportunity to raise some money for a really decent charity shouldn't be missed, and in this case my company group is picking Mind, who work in mental health. I've singled out a friend of mine, Olivia, who killed herself about 12 years ago now, as someone I'll be remembering on this journey.
