Story
Horton's Kids serves the most under-resourced communities in Washington, DC, profoundly impacted by decades of disinvestment and barriers to opportunity.
23 years ago, Sue met Horton's Kids volunteers on the Hill to tutor/mentor. Selin joined her every year since supporting them as they continue to fight inequality to ensure every child graduates from high school ready to succeed.
Horton's Kids operate two Community Resource Centers, reach 600 participants and their families, and offers a comprehensive array of programs. The impact of these programs is dramatic: Participants are twice as likely to graduate from high school compared to their peers living in the same communities. And, they just started renovation of their first building.
