I attended Action Cancers Breast Screening Service from the age of 40 and at 48 after a routine screening I was referred to Belfast City Hospital for further tests and subsequently diagnosed with Breast Cancer . Because I had been attending Action Cancer every two years since the age of 40 my Breast Cancer was discovered at an early stage and therefore it was able to be treated. I had surgery within a few weeks and although a few complications followed I was clear of the Cancer and have been now for 4 years. I feel that Action Cancers Breast Screening service saved my life with early detection and I am very committed to supporting the charity in order that other Woman can avail of this service.
