Event: Edinburgh Marathon 2023, on 28 May 2023
We help the poorest to survive and thrive.

Story

Mother Theresa once said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then just feed one”. And, like in the story of a ‘Good Samaritan’, when faced with inequalities in the world, we can look the other way just like the priest and the Levite. Or we can be like the good Samaritan and look at the inequalities in the world and do something about it. SCIAF is doing the latter, reaching out to the poor and underprivileged communities of the world and providing hope through the provision of education and lifelong skills such as in agriculture and more, thereby empowering communities and reducing poverty. This year during the Lenten season, SCIAF is focusing on Zambia. Inspired by this, I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon (26 miles) on the 28th of May 2023. Please sponsor me and help change lives. It is amazing how Jesus fed thousands of hungry people from just five loaves and two fish. Anything you donate, with a blessing will increase.

About the charity

We help people in the world’s poorest places to lift themselves out of poverty, work together to protect our common home, and help people recover from disaster. We work in partnership with local and church organisations, supporting communities across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
