Trek Autumn 2022
Campaign by Magen David Adom UK (RCN 1113409)
Following the amazing success of our past Treks, MDA UK's next ground-breaking trek will take place from 6th-13th November 2022. Journeying through Jordan and across the border into Israel, this trek will raise funds for essential medical supplies.

Story

Hello and thank you for visiting fund-raising page in support of
MDA.

In November this year, I am embarking on a physical and mental
challenge to raise money for a fantastic organisation.

This organisation is Magen David Adom who :

  • Are responsible for all Israel’s first aid
    training
  • Provide and maintain Israel’s 1716 ambulances
  • Collect and supply 300,000 units of blood each
    year
  • Co-operate with the Palestinian Red Crescent
  • Share expertise internationally on dealing with
    mass casualty situations.

Magen David Adom in the UK also give aid to other equivalent
organisations around the world, providing urgent medical care to civilians irrespective of their nationality, religion, ethnic origin, age, disability, sexual orientation or political affiliation.

I have trekked once before in 2019, so I know that there will be
lots of challenges and I can promise you lots of photos of my adventures along
the way.

What exactly will I be doing ?

In November 2022 Suzi will be flying the flag for Essex and will  be Trekking in Jordan and Israel, covering over 50km in several days.

Starting in Amman, we will be guests of the Jordan Red Crescent, before heading south to trek in Petra and Wadi Rum and
then across the border and into Eilat.   In Israel we will be trekking in the Ramon Crater before heading up to Rahat, the largest Bedouin town in the world, where the 2019 trekkers (I was part of this
group in 2019) and the Young MDA committee have funded the rebuilding of a much-needed ambulance station within the town.

The journey will conclude at the site of the new National Blood & Logistics Centre in Ramle, which is a remarkable
and much needed £90m underground Blood Centre that will revolutionise the way in which MDA collects, processes and distributes blood.

Did I mention that I need your donations?

Any amount no matter how large or small will make a difference and
provide much needed funding so that MDA can continue to SAVE LIVES.

Funds raised typically go to help fund:

  • Medical Equipment
  • Life Saving Training for Staff
  • Maintenance of the GPS system
  • Ambulance Stations
  • The Blood Service
  • Completion of the build of a new Blood &
    Logistics Centre

I have been lucky enough not only to see first-hand the positive
contribution that MDA makes to people’s lives, but also the challenges that volunteers face on a daily basis – and this is why I am so passionate about raising money to support this worthy cause.

So once again I will be Trekking to raise funds for this truly
inspirational charity and to raise awareness of what they do and why it is so
important to support them.

Please, please, please give what you can.

With heart-felt thanks,

Suzi
