Story

A message from Ally’s mum, Noreen

Finally after 7 years of treatment for a rare heart condition, Praise be to Allah SWT, Aaliyah’s last operation will be just before her 11th birthday in October. This will be the big one but she'll have the best doctors and finally my baby will be free of her hickman line and intravenous medication.

This has been a very long, hard and emotional journey. I am very proud of both my girls and we are just going to keep moving forward, be happy and live life to the fullest.

I cannot thank GOSH enough for all the amazing work they have done for Ally.

The money raised from RBC Race for the Kids will help to fund ground-breaking research; advanced equipment; child and family support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities.Over the last 10 years RBC Race for the Kids has raised an incredible £5 million for the hospital. In celebration of the 10th anniversary, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity are hoping to raise £1 million from this year’s event. With your support we can get there
