Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research as a small token of my appreciation of the good work that has gone on so far. If it wasn't for the research and fundraising that has happened so far, I may not be here today. On Christmas Eve 2018, I came home early from work complaining about flue like symptoms. After a few hours sleep and feeling worst, my wife decided to call 111, and the lady on the other end advise it sounded like I was having a cardiac event, and a ambulance was sent. The paramedics arrived and after hooking me up to a ecg, decided to take me to the hospital. While in the ambulance my condition worsened but the calm, collective nature of the paramedics made me feel safe that I was in the right place. At the hospital the nurses and doctors were able to get me more stable, and after spending the Christmas period in the hospital I was taken to the angioplasty department for my angiogram. I had 3 stents fitted as my arteries showed 2 partial blockages and 1 total blockage. The ladies and gentlemen in that room helped ease my concerns, its not the nicest procedure but I'm sure it has improved over the years, and help me remain calm as I was getting nervous as the severity of what had happen to me was finally sinking into my thick head :-). 

It is because of this experience and the awesome team of people who helped me from start to finish that I want to give a little back to help further drive improvements in treatment. I am also grateful that my son Adam is also supporting me on this and running with me to help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. We'd be so grateful for your support.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
