Story
Our Challenges:
Mum: Fibromyalgia & ME
Dad: Arthritis & Gout
Me!: Severs Disease (Ongoing growing pains)
Over 50% of the care we provide is to patients who live out in the community at home or in care homes. Our Community nurses carry out over 3,500 visits each year across our community area. We are also able to bring patients from their home to our Living Well Centre. People living with a life limiting illness can get a lift to come and receive emotional, practical, physical and clinical support from St Wilfrid's Hospice. We can also care for up to fourteen people on our ward every hour of the day, for as long as that person needs it. The care people receive by our specialist nurses is of the highest quality and it means that a person has all of their medical and personal needs taken care of comfortably. It means families do not have to worry about caring for their loved one anymore, that's all taken care of so they just focus on quality time together.
