Virtual Edinburgh Marathon 2021 · 30 May 2021 ·

For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been providing direct support for kidney patients and working hard to improve health and care services across the UK. With no government funding, it is your donations alone that improves life for kidney patients.

Story

**unfortunately this event is now a virtual marathon, so we will be running the Bristol marathon route**

On the 30th November 2008, I lost my best mate to kidney failure. It was the world’s loss.

Cal had buckets of talent (and hair gel), not least as a star cricketer, and I know he’d have gone on to do incredible things. I also know he’d be grinning at the idea of Ross and I huffing and puffing our way through 26 Scottish miles in his memory.

And what better way to spend our dark, damp winter evenings than running...

Two functioning kidneys is something I personally take for granted and I’m sure most of you do, too. Now that we can (hopefully) see an end to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ross and I wanted to put ourselves through another testing physical activity to raise a bit of cash to help all those who are battling and suffering from Kidney problems every single day.

We are very excited to welcome Tim Beecroft to the team! Tim has also kindly pledged to run his first marathon for Calum and raise money for this great cause! Nice one Tim!

Thank you all for your support.
