Dave served 23 years in the Armed forces, serving tours in numerous operational locations, subsequently being diagnosed with PTSD several years later, and having to seek out much needed support.

John served 6 years in the Royal Engineers, serving operational tours in Northern Iraq & Southern Turkey, providing humanitarian relief support during and following conflict in Gulf-1.

Both Dave and John have experienced first-hand, the help & support needed to re-engage with family and the community following conflict and trauma. As Team-Sapper-23 and in order to 'give something back' both will be riding 280 miles in 3 days across the beaches and battlefields of Normandy in support of Woodys Lodge and to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on D-Day. 

Woodys Lodge provide vital support for both mental and physical needs in addition to counselling, advice, focus and therapy.

Through cycling, Dave has been able to combat the hidden enemy of PTSD and with the support of John, family and friends, is able to help numerous others to find the support they need.
