Select Car Leasing has supported Children with Cancer for several years and we are now looking for support for an event that we have organised to raise more money for the amazing work this charity does.

We're about to embark on the three peaks 24 hr challenge to support Children with Cancer.... but this is nothing compared to the challenge faced by the children and their families who are affected by cancer and who are battling against this terrible disease every day! 

The Three Peaks Team taking part: 

We are six men of varying levels of fitness taking on the Three Peaks Challenge. This means we must climb 3 mountains (Ben Nevis, Scaffell Pike and Snowdon) in the space of just 24 hrs. Just by looking at us you can tell we are optimists but so be it. If optimism safely scales mountains, then we are in great shape. If it doesn’t, we are in great danger!

Damien is the youngest but shamefully not the fittest. Then comes Rob, youngish, roguish and on this occasion, foolish. Next is Paul Sweeney. A triathlon veteran but not a tri-mountain expert. However, Sweeney could be running on his Todd out front. Paul Mac is my personal bet for being in the driving seat. Mainly because... he is in the driving seat.! He is not climbing but he is will be leading when we are coming around the mountain when we come. Steve Tongue is the next person in line. This is his fourth endeavour on the Three Peaks so is a master of conquering this rugged territory. Older now though so the jury is out on that one. Finally, me, Jeff Chapman. I would love to be climbing but most of my body has already had arguments with my thoughts. Therefore, I am the appointed Physio and general morale booster. Believe me, I have a very hard job ahead of me.

So that’s us. The fantastic fo…. six. We are not about to challenge our lives for the fun of it. We are doing it for those children whose lives are already being challenged by cancer. There are many worthy causes and amazing charities and we believe that Children with Cancer UK is doing a sterling job for these children. We really want to support them and hopefully you will support us in doing that. Any small amount of donation will be welcomed with open arms and grateful hearts.

So, here’s to us, to you and mostly to the children and their families. Our optimism overflows.
