Story

Help us make our new cancer and surgery building even better!

We are raising money by cycling the Zoncolan to help enhance the hospital's environment through a number of projects.

The fundraising challenge this year is to spend
2 days climbing in the high mountains of North West Italy and finish by riding up the Zoncolan in the Carnic Alps.

Although less well-known compared with the
Tourmalet (last year's challenge) and Alp d'Huez, it has a fearsome reputationin Italy.

It was first climbed by the professionals in
2003 and it is known as 'a true monster of a climb' - the average gradient is
11.9%, with a max of 22%!

The climb is set in stunning landscape and the
final section involves cycling through 2 tunnels before emerging into a perfect  mountain amphitheatre with 360 degree outlook over the peaks of the Carnic Alps. When you reach the top you will have gained a lifelong memory and earned every penny of your sponsorship!
