As I count my blessing for reaching my 60^th year on planet earth I have decided to set myself a challenge to show my gratitude to the spirits who continue to give me this life (whoever they are).

I aim to run and walk 2021 kilometres in the year 2021. My aim is to raise £2021 for St Ann’s Hospice.

I am doing this in celebration and memory of the lovely family and friends I have loved and lost along the way. There are more of them than I would wish and they have all enriched my life in different and immeasurable ways.  I will never forget any of them.

There are of course also more selfish reasons for doing it….it will provide motivation to help me get rid of the lockdown lard. Only this morning my lovely husband likened my bottom to a blancmange (cheers John!) but to be fair he’s not wrong!

I am retiring (yay!!) after 43 years as a Civil Servant and have a significant birthday this year and it would make me really happy if anyone who wanted to recognise it made a small donation rather than gifts. I will be over the moon if I can achieve this target.
