UK Sepsis Trust - Support Service for COVID-19 Patients & families

Given the current situation with CoViD-19, we wanted to share an update. In view of the crisis that many are facing, the UK Sepsis Trust has made the positive and crucial decision to extend our services, beyond sepsis, to those who have been critically ill with CoViD-19 in hospital. As a result, weve been looking hard at what we can do to help. We feel its our duty to step up to the plate not only because patients who have recently survived sepsis are more vulnerable to its effects, but also because CoViD-19 can cause sepsis in some patients. Moreover, we believe our skills, in supporting people affected by sepsis, are directly transferable to those surviving CoViD-19.Please help us to fund our Support Services - they are vital and will be in very much in demand over the coming weeks and indeed months.
Dad was a climber in his younger days and scaled Ben Nevis using ice axes and crampons! We’re not able to get out due to the lockdown and don’t have to skills to climb like he did! We’ve climbed up some of the highest mountains in England but never Scotland so thought a challenge in the country where Mum and Dad spent their honeymoon would be appropriate. Since we can’t get out due to lockdown, we’ll both do this challenge using our step machine at home and record the ‘climb’.
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles, the summit is 1,345 metres above sea level. Ben Nevis stands at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William. The summit is the highest land in any direction for 459 miles.
