Story
In view of the crisis that many are facing, the UK Sepsis Trust has made the positive and crucial decision to extend our services, beyond sepsis, to those who have been critically ill with COVID-19 in hospital.
The welfare of our volunteers, supporters and staff, along with our ability to maintain our National Support Service, is of paramount importance and UKST's top priority.
Attention is rightly on COVID-19. As a result, we've been looking hard at what we can do to help. We feel it's our duty to step up to the plate - not only because patients who have recently survived sepsis are more vulnerable to its effects, but also because COVID-19 can cause sepsis in some patients. Moreover, we believe our skills, in supporting people affected by sepsis, are directly transferable to those surviving COVID-19.
Our charity and its aims remain very much operational. As you'll appreciate, in line with government advice, we won't be undertaking face to face contact but will do all we can to respond to people who need advice via other channels. Our dedicated Support Team will be increasing capacity to help those in greatest need at this difficult time.
Dr Ron Daniels CEO "But we can't do this alone. Without vital funds, we're unable to carry out such life-changing, valuable work. We appreciate, of course, that these are challenging times for everybody, but we'd be incredibly grateful if you could continue to support the charity and this additional, crucial service." Please help us by donating today.
Wishing you all good health in these extremely challenging times and thank you again for your continued loyalty and support. It's greatly appreciated!
