Thanks very much for popping in and looking at my JustGiving page.

I wanted to do something in 2020 to help raise money for Mind, as I have suffered with mental health and anxiety issues for the past couple of years. Having used their excellent resources in the past, I felt I had to give something back in return - y'know, karma and all that!

Now I am not the most athletic of people, and I am concerned that my anxiety could create problems for other things, such as a sponsored walk/groundhop/etc. However one thing that I am is determined! Therefore I thought I would give something up for the whole of 2020, and thus alcohol is the obvious answer.

Many people give up the booze for October for charity, so I thought I would try and expand that by a further 11 months and go throughout the first year of the 2020's completely sober. Considering this year is a year where Wales have qualified for the 2020 UEFA European Championships, this is going to be tougher than usual.

I will hopefully keep you informed of my progress throughout the whole of 2020 through regular posts here and there, where you can chuckle at me drinking some fizzy pop whilst everyone else is enjoying a nice drink, especially in the summertime. If you can spare some change, or perhaps donate the amount of a pint of beer to my cause, I would be awfully grateful!

I have set the initial target as £366 - a pound for every day of sobriety (an extra day for a leap year also....)
