Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and read our short story about Chelsea Blue and the Charity SEED. We are determined to try and make a difference by turning our heartache into something POSITIVE.

I’m running the Yorkshire Marathon 15th October 2023 in the  Memory of CHELSEA BLUE and to help raise vital funds for the charity SEED and to raise awareness of MENTAL HEALTH and EATING DISORDERS. Eating disorders are on the rise and the recent figures are shocking . So we need more help and to talk to help kick the stigma !

Why are we raising for SEED !

Chelsea Blue our beloved daughter had started with an eating disorder at the age of 13 and after failed help and let downs from external services it suddenly escalated into Anorexia. She was admitted into hospital and it’s where I became aware of SEED . I had a phone call one night that will stay with me forever, chelsea was on the verge of been sectioned and I called seed for advice ! Gemma came on the phone and said please please don’t let her get sectioned, we can help her! Them inpatient hospitals are not a nice place!. Unfortunately chelsea blue did get sectioned and after a few years of still struggling with her mental health and eating disorder in different inpatient units we had a call no parent should !!!

On April 10th 2021 whilst I was away at sea I had the call that no parent should get , a call saying my daughter Chelsea Blue had done an act of self harm at the inpatient unit she was staying and was been taken to Intensive Care. On April 12th with us sat by her side chelsea blue failed the 7 stage stem cell test and was declared dead at 14:52 , we had lost our baby girl age 17!

SEED have been such a great support to myself and my family throughout this very difficult time and Gemma has played a big part in helping me thru my grief.

SEED are just a small charity that do MASSIVE AMAZING things and they need help and funds to be able to carry on doing these life saving things.
SEED have just opened their new resource support centre and there has been so many admissions since opening and without all your help they can’t do what is needed to help save life’s.

It is known that early intervention with eating disorders is the key to recovery and I really think that if there was a resource centre like seed have now that Chelsea could it gone to then maybe things would it been very different and chelsea could of been here.

Chelsea Blue loved to help people and on her unfortunate death her organs was put for donation and she helped save 4 peoples life’s . And now In her memory SEED have named a therapy room at the new Resource Centre
         ‘The Chelsea Blue Room’
So her legacy can live on helping people…

So please. We need your help ! Your donation will go towards helping individuals and families get the help and support that’s needed in their situation. We want to do our best so we can save life’s and so no other family have to go thru what we have.
If we can save one life, that is something priceless

So help us help seed help others.

Thank you for reading and keeping checking in for updates
