We are The Mid Wales Ghostbusters.

On Thursday 17th November we were honoured to visit Ty Hafan to discuss how we could help with fundraisers for the Charity.

Ty Hafan is an incredible place that provides 24 hour care for children who require hospice or end of life care. They provide a safe and loving space for children and their families for as long as they are needed.

During our visit we were shown a memorial area with a water feature and stones all around with each child's name on that has
passed away at Ty Hafan. It was heart-breaking to see so many names of the children that have passed away far too soon. It really put life into perspective 😪

We were shown the rooms where the children stay and the family rooms for parents who want to stay on site whilst their child is in the care of Ty Hafan. They have rooms to accommodate all family members including siblings so that the whole family can stay together. Each child's room is decorated with things they like, duvet covers of their favourite characters, toys, books etc to make it feel as much like home as possible.

Ty Hafan also provides free meals for all of the children and their families whilst they are staying at the hospice.

Ty Hafan costs 5 million pounds a year to run and they only receive around 4% funding from the government, the rest of their
funding is through their shops, donations or fundraising through events, family fun days etc.

We were all deeply touched by our visit today and without even needing to discuss it we all agreed there and then that Ty Hafan will be our charity of the year for 2023 😊

We have so many other fundraising ideas for the coming year and excited to be supporting this absolutely wonderful charity.
