Story
Dear All,
This February I will be going to Nepal for 12 weeks with Restless Development. Restless Development is an international charity that works with young people across countries in Africa and Asia hoping to solve some of the most pressing problems facing these 3rd world countries. In Nepal we will be focusing on Livelihood. This is a broad topic and quite frankly I don’t know exactly what projects I specifically will continue from my predecessors or start myself, however, previous projects include improving literacy, raising awareness on child marriage, LGBTQ rights, menstruation and so many others. A group of 20 of us will fly out to Nepal on the sixth of February and after a week of language and informal education training as well as meeting my Nepalese counterparts I along with 5-7 others will be placed in a rural community in Southern Lalitpur (just south of Kathmandu) with a host family. We will then spend the next 10 weeks getting to know the community, teaching children, continuing projects as well as starting our own. This experience will be brilliant and between the language barrier, length of time away, sheer intensity of the placement and massive cultural differences it will also be tough but I’m sure it will have an enormous impact. Any donations would be much appreciated!
