Story

62 years ago my Nana was in the same position as me, an 18 year old girl with huge aspirations and exciting prospects and a whole life ahead of her! The unexpected similarity was having the disease of Ulcerative Colitis.

Unfortunately 62 years ago my Nana wasn't diagnosed as an 18 year old like me, but suffered for many years before being rightly diagnosed at the age of 30. My diagnosis has made me realise the changes funding and technology can make as I won't have to go through the same traumas as my Nana. I want to raise money so that people don't have to wrongly suffer, to raise awareness and break the taboo around talking about Ulcerative Colitis!

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a national charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We are fighting to achieve a better quality of life for the 300,000 people in the UK suffering physically and emotionally from these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Ultimately, we want to find a cure.
