Dear friends, family and colleagues,
Along with some good friends, I’ve just finished a long bike ride. A very long bike ride. Although the initial idea to do it was of questionable sanity (and my body may never forgive me for it), if possible, I’d like to salve at least some of my aches and pains with the knowledge that my modest efforts have helped to raise a few quid to help one of the best causes out there: the Flying Seagull Project.
This troupe of clowns and entertainers travel the world with the simple aim of bringing joy and hope to children who are stuck in the most difficult of circumstances (refugee camps, orphanages, hospitals to name a few). They are a small charity who depend on donations, and put everything they receive straight into the invaluable work they do.
When we were planning the ride, I didn’t want to make it a charity thing, chiefly because, given the extra uncertainty due to covid-19, I wasn’t sure if we would be able to complete it, and I didn’t want to let anyone down. It seems a bit strange to be asking for sponsorship now, but these are strange times!
If you could spare a few pounds to help this amazing cause, it would mean a lot to me and my convalescing legs/backside/hands...
