We offer care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer

Story

Sunday April 21st 2013 is my first wedding anniversary. Instead of having a pleasant meal with my wife and relaxing over a chilled glass of champagne I will be running the London Marathon.

Why?

My sanity (or lack of it) could be called into question, but the main reason is to support an absolutely fantastic charity; Breast Cancer Care.

Two of my close relatives have been diagnosed with, treated for, and (most importantly) cured of Breast Cancer during the past five year. By running the London Marathon I am aiming to support the great work that they do, by spreading awareness of the role that Breast Cancer Care play in supporting cancer patients and their families through a difficult time.

Every ten minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer Care offers a free support line to provide friendly support and expert guidance to those individuals diagnosed with the life-threatening illness and supports them through a distressing and frightening time.

If you are able to support me in achieving my fundraising target then we can help to ensure that Breast Cancer Care are there whenever people need their expert help.

This is how your donation can help:

£5 pays for someone to learn about breast awareness at a community-based workshop delivered by our expert team.

£10 pays to provide a comprehensive, easy-to-understand information pack for someone newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

£24 pays for their expert Helpline to talk with a caller in confidence about any questions or worries they may have about breast health or as a result of their breast cancer diagnosis or treatment.

£192 pays for the training of a health worker to run breast health workshops in their community. The two-day course builds the skills and confidence to promote breast awareness, covering signs, symptoms and risks, and promoting the importance of early detection and breast screening

With your support we can make a real difference to the lives of those individuals diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

If you are unable to support this great cause financially then please come and support me on 21st April 2013 as I run my first ever marathon with the ambitious aim of finishing in 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated.
