Story
Dear Friends,
I would be extremely grateful if you could support the Kilimanjaro challenge I am doing in September/October of this year to raise funds for MND Scotland.
I have been working with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) patients since the beginning of my clinical work in Cambridge in 1995. In 1997 I got involved in research into MND and it remained one of the main topics of my work ever since.
Since my move to Edinburgh in 2006 I had a chance to familiarise myself with the work of MND Scotland. MND Scotland has financed a PhD student of mine, Phillipa Rewaj. After completing her PhD she continues working with MND patients.
When I heard about the Kilimanjaro challenge organised by MND Scotland I did first what all good husbands are supposed to do: I asked my wife Blanca for permission. To my surprise she agreed and so I decided to get involved, for the first time in my life, in fundraising.
I am hoping to develop alternative methods to the Ice Bucket challenge; I hope to involve my friends in concerts, poetry readings, art auctions etc. and will be updating you on all these developments. Meanwhile, I would be eternally grateful if you could make the first step and donate to MND Scotland through this account.
Yours
thomas
